William Bajzek

Irish Musician

I play traditional irish music on wooden flute, pennywhistle, guitar, and fiddle. My primary goal in life is to be one of the old folks that young people hope to get to spend time around while I'm still alive. I wouldn't call myself a purist but I am most fond of the music of older generations of players, before the era of superstar bands and the general homogenization of the music that has taken place since then. My favorites are Peadar O'Loughlin and Bobby Casey.

Classical Guitarist

I studied classical for three years with Ron Dunn at DeAnza College in Cupertino, CA, who I assisted in teaching intermediate and advanced guitar classes for two years. I have performed works by many important composers, including Benjamin Britten, Leo Brouwer, Augustin Barrios Mangore, Georg Philip Telemann, Joaquin Rodrigo, and others, but nowadays I play only sporadically and for my own enjoyment.

Software Engineer

I work for an enterprise software company in Silicon Valley. I am comfortable working with many aspects of software, but I am primarily interested in users' experience. With enterprise software, the selection and purchasing process is usually carried out by individuals who do not necessarily interact with the application often, and the people who are required to use it to accomplish their work are often left with an ugly application and a difficult and confusing process of using it. I spend much of my time seeking ways to reduce the effort necessary for them to use our application, as I believe that a good reference from existing customer is just as important as a strong demo when it comes to selling software.
